Honking to a console near you.

Untitled Goose Game, the newly-released indie hit from House House that has players take on the role of an a**hole goose, has proven itself as a critical and commercial darling since releasing a few weeks ago.

It's such a hit, in fact, that it actually managed to take the top spot on the Nintendo Switch Eshop from The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, which released on the same day. An indie game toppling a Zelda title on a Nintendo-specific storefront? That's one spicy goose.

While this excellent slice of goose-related mischief is currently only available on PC or Nintendo Switch, the good news is that its massive (and perhaps unexpected) success means that it'll likely be honking its way over to PS4 and Xbox One before long.

That's according to developer House House, who revealed in an interview with ABC News that it "hopes" to be able to bring the game to Sony and Microsoft's platforms before moving on to whatever project it fancies tackling next (Titled Rooster Game, maybe).

The studio also revealed on Twitter that it's "still chewing" over the idea of a mobile version, but that's dependent on whether or not the game can work well enough with touch controls.

This is obviously by no means direct confirmation that Untitled Goose Game is bound for PS4, Xbox One, and mobile, but that the developer is thinking about it, coupled with the fact the game has done so well on Switch and PC, means getting it on as many platforms as possible is surely a no-brainer.

I sincerely hope that Untitled Goose Game does make itself available for any of my friends out there who don't own a Switch or suitable gaming PC, because it is genuinely a solid contender for a slot in my list of games of the year, alongside heavy hitters like Resident Evil 2 Remake and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

In my review of Untitled Goose Game, I lamented the game's short length but praised virtually everything else about it, writing that "even a relatively short length can't put too much of a dampener on what is otherwise a perfectly paced, gorgeously designed, and deceptively deep sandbox stealth puzzler with some of the funniest and most satisfying moments you'll experience in a game this year."

In other words, if it does come to PS4 and Xbox One and you have a chance to experience this exemplary aviary adventure for yourself, you need to do so without hesitation. Let yourself become the goose, and the rest will fall into place.
