Some good news for all you Fall Guys out there this morning, as a brand new patch is being readied as we speak, and it's going to tackle some of the hottest issues currently plaguing the delightful jelly bean battle royale.
Announce via the game's meme-worthy Twitter account (which has been keeping outlets well stocked with news stories recently, so thanks for that) the incoming update is called "spicy hot fix" and is "almost ready to go".
"We've got a patch that's almost ready to go" the account states. "Will hopefully drop in the next week!" The patch notes included in the tweet include fixing things like tweaking the game's algorithm so players will only have to play a team game if there are enough players to fill out two equally-sized teams.

This in particular is going to be a godsend for fans who are sick to the back teeth of being dealt the bum-hand of having fewer players in games like Fall Ball and Rock 'n' Roll, where quantity of players on your team really does translate to quality of experience.
Other fixes include auto-sorting party members for spectator mode when you're playing with friends, the ability to customise your X and Y axis inversions on the PS4 version and fixing the top five most common crashes in the game.
There's also a very suspect patch that says "removed move speed nerf from Yellow Team (don't post this one)". A tongue-in-cheek reference to the fact that the Yellow Team seems to have picked up the unfortunate reputation of being sucky, and is therefore uniformly hated by everybody. Our own Ewan Moore noted that this feeling of animosity towards the idea of the team being just the worst, becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy when you're auto-designated into it; you already think you're going to lose, so you lose.

At any rate, it's good to see the Fall Guys twitter acknowledging the audience, even if they did threaten to delete the Yellow Team entirely, if their tweet reached 1 million retweets. That saga is still ongoing.
While this patch undoubtedly addresses a lot of the gripes players have with Fall Guys (especially that team-balancing one) the game is unfortunately still rife with cheaters, who use exploits and game-breaking bugs to gain the upper hand in matches. Here's hoping that gets sorted sooner, rather than later.
