Venom: Let There Be Carnage has finally arrived in cinemas, and fans are absolutely losing their minds over the sequel's post-credits scene and what it means for Sony's Spider-Man universe going forward.

Obviously there are going to be MAJOR SPOILERS for the rest of this article, so if you want to go into Venom's new adventure completely unspoiled then I would urge you not to scroll below the trailer. Okay? You've been warned.

Now that the hardcore few remain, lets get into it. Venom: Let There Be Carnage ends with Eddie Brock and the symbiote starting a new life on a remote tropical island. There are plenty of animals to eat, and no chance of the authorities attempting to take Venom in. Not that such a move would end well for them.

Eddie and Venom are relaxing in their hotel room watching TV when Venom casually informs his host that he's billions of years old and has seen things Eddie couldn't possibly imagine. Venom offers to give Eddie a taste of this knowledge, and he swiftly agrees. In an instant, the room blinks out of existence and the pair find themselves in a hotel room that's kind of the same, but noticeably different.

On the TV, a news story is playing out. It's the same Daily Bugle story seen at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home, in which Tom Holland's Spidey has been outed as Peter Parker to the entire world. Venom slithers up towards the screen and licks it as it lingers on an image of Peter's face. That's right, True Believers: Spider-Man and Venom are about to cross over on the big screen.

So... what? Has Venom joined the MCU? Has Spidey been dragged into Sony's Marvel universe? It's currently unclear what the heck happened, but were clearly headed towards a showdown between Holland's Spidey and Hardy's Venom. Bring it on.
