'Call Of Duty: Warzone' Player Wins Match By Pretending To Be Dead

This Warzone player managed to dupe the enemies into thinking they were a dead body, and so they won the match without lifting a finger (literally).

Ok. I'll admit it. I have tried to win a match in a battle royale by dropping all of my inventory and attempting to blend in with the environment. Is it a cheap strategy when everyone else out there is risking it all to make it into the circle and cut down the competition? Yes. Did it work? Almost. I got into the final five until someone twigged that I was not a twig and offed me. Were my friends annoyed with me because they had to watch the screen seeing my character stand totally still for thirty minutes straight when I could have been doing something, anything that was more interesting? Slightly. All in all, it's a funny tactic to employ because the very nature of a battle royale is kill or be killed, so choosing neither and winning is a statement on the silliness of dropping 100 people in a circle and the bloodbath that ensues.

That's exactly what Reddit user conorlee93 achieved by playing dead in Warzone. The circle was getting smaller and smaller in a section of woodland. "You're f*cked," said their friend over voice chat while another team pushed through the thicket, pursuing conorlee93 who maintained the high ground and had to put distance between them and death. Lovely to have the support of pals in such a tricky time. The enemy team almost had them, though they quickly self-revived and dashed out of an air-strike zone. Fortunately, they stumbled upon a slight depression in the ground where they crouched down to shield up. Out of sight and out of mind, the rest of the contenders locked horns when one of his squad had a lightbulb moment. "If you don't move, maybe they won't catch you," they said. "Maybe they'll think you're a dead body."

A bold suggestion, but it might just work. Tensions are sky-high when it gets to this point in the match, and your focus has to only be on the nearest threat to you. There's hardly the time to be sight-seeing or scouring the surroundings for loot. conorlee93 drops their inventory on the ground, giving the impression that they'd been killed, leaving themselves totally defenseless. Their team watches on, enraptured, while the other players scurry back and forth over the hill. There's even a heart-stopping moment where one player looks at the scattering of loot... but not too closely, thankfully.

Explosions rock the earth as the "final two" duke it out. conorlee93 picks up the nearest gun while the winner's attention is still on the opponent, and lines up his mark. Bam. The game is over and the person that pretended to be dead for the last five minutes is the victor. Honestly, there's no justice in the world. And that's what makes it funny.
