'Call Of Duty: Warzone' Players Are Being Killed By Their Own Heartbeat Sensors

'Call Of Duty: Warzone' Players Are Being Killed By Their Own Heartbeat Sensors

Piddly pat.

The latest glitch to plague Call Of Duty: Warzone is possibly one of the most alarming ones I've seen yet - and that's really saying something. Infinity Ward's free-to-play battle royale has seen its fair share of technical hiccups, but the game's most recent trouble has seen players being unexpectedly killed off by their own heartbeat sensors.

For those that don't really play Warzone, heartbeat sensors are supposed to be a genuine lifeline. This tactical addition to your loadout allows you to scan for any nearby players, making it a perfect way to be absolutely sure that you're not about to head into a building and get your head blown off by an enemy squad lying in wait.

In an ironic twist of fate, this once invaluable tool is now a weapon of mass destruction - but only to the player holding it. As you can see from the clip shared by GiantDreamDwarf below, picking up and using the heartbeat sensor killed them dead on the spot... just like that.

It's not entirely clear what happened, but the killcam seems to confirm that GiantDreamDwarf wasn't sniped or killed by another player. They just... drop dead. What's even worse is that this doesn't seem to be the first time such a death has happened.

"This is the first post I've seen about this," another user wrote. "The same thing happened to me in squads but every time I used my heartbeat sensor it would 1 hit me and down me. At first I thought I was getting sniped but it just kept happening exactly when I used it and when inside. Only ever happened that one game in season 2 and never again lol."

A fellow Redditor confirmed that this was a little-known glitch that was actually fixed a few seasons back, before joking that Infinity Ward clearly added it back in "as a feature".

At the time of writing, Infinity Ward has yet to acknowledge this issue, and there's no mention of it on the public Trello development board. It doesn't seem to be that widespread of an issue at this stage, so we'll have to wait and see how bad it actually gets. Every now and again Reddit can document a strange Warzone glitch that's never seen again, so hopefully this stays on the obscure side.
