Going down, down in an earlier round.

Last night saw the end of Verdansk in Call Of Duty: Warzone as we know it. As players scrambled to contain a growing zombie outbreak, their efforts eventually proved futile as a warhead the size of a bus hurtled down on the doomed city, wiping it from the face of the earth and setting up Season 3 of the popular battle royale game.

It was brutal, chaotic fighting that saw players duking it out, dodging radiation and donning juggernaut suits as their fellow players, who'd kicked their proverbial buckets, swarmed them like flies as super-powered undead zombies. At least, that's what should have happened, but a lot of people were unable to get into the game because of server issues. If you were one of these unfortunate souls, here's what you would have witnessed as Verdansk went the way of the dodo.

Yes, in a tale as old as time, Warzone's servers folded like a wet paper napkin under the stress of thousands of players all trying to log in at once to bear witness to this historic event. 'The Destruction Of Verdansk pt 1', which had been teased and leaked for weeks prior, was to be the full stop at the end of Warzone Season 2, making way for Season 3 and a greater integration of Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Unfortunately, many fans were unable to actually see it as servers reset at 8pm BST in preparation, causing blanket issues for fans across the globe.

If you did manage to get into the game, it won't have escaped you that being called 'The Destruction Of Verdansk pt 1', implies the existence of a subsequent pt 2. And you'd be absolutely bloody correct. Pt 2 is planned to begin at roughly the same time tonight (that's 8pm BST April 22nd) and will see a brand new map introduced. And what is that map, I hear you cry? Well, rumour has it,it's going to be an '80s themed Verdansk, in keeping with Black Ops Cold War's era. We'll know more in due course.
