'Watch Dogs: Legion' Will Feature A Playable, Modern Assassin's Creed Assassin

After a couple of delays, Watch Dogs: Legion finally comes out at the end of this month. At long last we'll be able to live out our dream of exploring a broken version of London that's isolated itself from the rest of the world and fallen under the boot of a corrupt fascist regime. Yes, the stuff of complete fantasy.

Ahead of the open-world adventure game's October 29th release date, Ubisoft has shared all-new details on the post-launch content we can expect in its first year of release. Because of course you can't release a AAA game anymore without doing this kind of thing, can you?

To be fair, the Watch Dogs: Legion DLC has genuinely caught my eye, if only because it's giving long-time Assassin's Creed fans something they've wanted since forever: a playable, modern-day assassin called Darcy. Take a look at her below.

Not a lot is known about Darcy, apart from the fact she's one of the most recent members of the ancient assassin order. As somebody who finished Assassin's Creed 3 and assumed the next game would give us a modern-day setting, I'm honestly thrilled with this little surprise. It's not that I didn't love Black Flag and most of the games that came after, but I've been hoping for someone like Darcy for ages.

Darcy will be introduced as a playable character as part of the Bloodline story DLC. This same DLC will also introduce three other playable characters: Aiden Pearce, the incredibly boring hat-stand from the first Watch Dogs, Wrench from Watch Dogs 2, and Mina, a completely original character who has special powers that allow her to control NPCs with her mind.

That's the paid DLC, but there'll also be a raft of free content to get stuck into. Starting December 3rd, players will be able to enjoy an ambitious online co-op mode that includes free roam, special missions, raids, and even eight-player PvP. If it's anything like the criminally underrated Watch Dogs 2 multiplayer, you're in for a treat.
