Going underground.

Fallout fans everywhere have been starved of a new single-player experience for a good few years now. While 2018's Fallout 76 can certainly be played solo, it doesn't quite match the heights of previous entries in the series.

Bethesda currently has its hands full with the upcoming sci-fi RPG Starfield (expected 2022) and the in-development Elder Scrolls VI (expected this century), so it's not really clear when the next mainline Fallout entry will drop. Fortunately, a team of incredibly talented fans have banded together to create Fallout: London, a single-player DLC-sized mod for Fallout 4 that brings post-apocalyptic action to Blighty.

Take a look at the amazing reveal trailer below!

"Fallout: London is a DLC-sized mod for Bethesda's Fallout 4," writes the Fallout: London team on YouTube. "As a continuation of the base game, the mod will allow the player to visit the previously unexplored post-apocalyptic environment of London.

"As a divergence from previous official titles in the series, Fallout: London is not set in America. Visiting a totally new setting allows for us to explore totally new cultures which have not homogenized with their American counterparts. It also allows us to explore pre-war European history, and the effects the Resource Wars had on the class structured society of pre-war Britain."

I have to say, this is such a stunning idea I can't quite believe Bethesda hadn't already done it. The environments and characters in Fallout: London look markedly different to anything we've ever seen in the series before. There are classic (if slightly destroyed) London landmarks to be found, and even post-apocalyptic knights of the round table.

Fallout: London is still in development and doesn't have a release date yet, but it's clear a lot of work is going into this one. The mod is set to feature a ton of new content, including original quests, new factions to join, and weapons and armour to find.

Projects like this honestly leave me in awe. The absolute passion and creativity of everyone involved is outstanding. If you want to get involved, or even just follow along with the project's progress, you can visit the official website or Discord server.
