Will Smith Surprises 14-Year-Old Cancer Patient With PlayStation 5

Will Smith is without a doubt an American national treasure. The 52-year-old actor is the life and soul of so many films and TV shows, and that's without mentioning the guy's music career too. It doesn't matter if your intro to his work was through The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air or Bad Boys, you're almost certainly fond of the legend, and with his new Snapchat series, he has proven once again that he's just a straight-up good human.

Smith has been making a new series called Will From Home and for the Holiday Special, he teamed up with Jason Derulo and GameStop to give a 14-year-old cancer patient the elusive PlayStation 5. Makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Aidan and the father of the kid Chuck are from Fort Worth, Texas. Aidan, unfortunately, has leukaemia which meant during the COVID-19 pandemic, Chuck couldn't see his son in the hospital. So, what did his dad do? He dressed up in the brightest orange outfit we've ever seen and dad danced in the parking lot, and has done so every Tuesday to brighten his son's day. Wait, we have something in our eye - we're not crying we promise.

Jason Derulo and Smith proceeded to give dad Chuck some more dance moves he can perform when he's next cutting shapes in the car park outside the hospital. They even teach him how to hit The Woah, because if you're not hitting The Woah, are you really down with it, fellow kids? Okay, we admit it we don't know how to do The Woah, leave us alone.

Finally, Will hands over a PlayStation 5 to Aidan for him to play as well as a gift card for games. Not only that, but he and GameStop donated $5000 each ($10k) to Cook Children's Medical Center. Both Aidan and his dad Chuck look delighted and we're happy Chuck can enjoy next-gen gaming while he's fighting the good fight. Will Smith, you continue to be a cool dude. How incredibly wholesome. Thanks, GameRant for turning us onto the story.
