If you're waiting on Valve to release a Left 4 Dead 3 you may as well give up, it's as likely to turn up as the dead are to rise out of their grave. Instead, the really quite alright World War Z is here and churning out the DLC. Developer Saber Interactive has announced a second season of free content for its co-op zombie shooter. It will add two new maps and chunky new horde mode.

The horde mode, naturally sees you trying to defend a point against wave after wave of the undead. It's a little like Left 4 Dead survival mode, though in this case there may be even more zombies. The zombies in World War Z come in huge crowds and will climb on top of each other to get over walls, which is really quite a vile sight.

Climb, my pretties. Climb!
Climb, my pretties. Climb!

As well as the new mode, developer Saber Interactive is releasing a pair of new missions, one set in New York and another in Moscow. Though it's not released any details about those missions - though I imagine they will feature a lot of zombie killing. Personally, I say we take this fight to the Kremlin. Make those red zed dead, Ted. I hope someone reading this is called Ted, or that won't work at all.

The update will also bring with it a new Zombie type and cross play between console and PC. So if you've friends who've picked it up on another platform you can finally push back the hordes together. No clue what new zombie type that will be, I've my fingers crossed for an undead celebrity or a crossover event with the Plants vs Zombies crew.

Saber Interactive hasn't announced a release date for the update, only that it will be out in Q4 2019. So, basically, any time between now and Christmas. Ho Ho Horror Show.
