Season 5 of Call Of Duty: Warzone and Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare drops tomorrow (August 5th), bringing with it a ton of new content, changes, and tweaks to the Infinity Ward-developed shooter. It also brings, as I'm sure you've already guessed, an absolutely massive install.

On PlayStation 4, the Season 5 update looks to be a particularly chonky 36GB, though you'll actually need 90 GB free to initiate the download. For comparison, the Season 4 update was a (slightly less) chonky 32.5GB. We're still not entirely sure how large the install will be on Xbox One and PC, but these updates tend to be several GB larger on these platforms, while PS4 boasts the smallest of the bunch. Clear some space ASAP, is what I'm saying.

But it's not all bad news. The update won't be live until tomorrow morning, but you can pre-load the patch on PS4 right now so that it's all ready to go. It doesn't look like we can pre-download on Xbox One and PC at this exact moment, but hopefully we'll be able to before tomorrow. Infinity Ward production director Paul Haile also confirmed that the update, while monstrous, will actually end up decreasing the overall file size of the game.

"This means the download will be big, but the overall size of the game will actually shrink on your consoles after you download the patch, even though we're adding a bunch of new content for the season," Haile explained on Twitter. "It's a priority for us to keep working on reducing the overall size of MW & WZ on your hard drives, but at the same time also delivering new seasons for everyone to enjoy. we'll continue to work on this and keep pushing space reductions out with future updates."

We still don't know everything that's coming in Season 5 of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call Of Duty: Warzone, but expect some familiar faces and surprises. Last week, it was revealed that the game will be getting a handful of operators in the form of a new faction known as Shadow Company.

A second trailer also confirmed that the roof of Vedansk Stadium has finally been blown off, meaning players can finally get inside and see what's what. Given the 36GB file size, I'd also imagine there are a few other big changes and additions coming to the game, so let's hold on tight and see where Season 5 takes us.
