Chances are, even if you don't really know who MrBeast is, he's probably popped up in your YouTube recommended videos here or there over the years. He's known for his large-scale, ridiculous videos and giving out huge cash prizes to friends and strangers. And although he's generally well-liked for his public actions, former employees of the YouTuber are now coming forward with bullying accusations, painting a very different picture of the influencer's behaviour.

A report from The New York Times delves into Jimmy 'MrBeast' Donaldson and his passion to become the "Elon Musk of online creators". Within this report, there are interviews with former colleagues of the creator who accuse him of bullying. Upon denying a personal interview, a representative of the YouTube creator also had to face questioning about Jimmy's former usage of homophobic slurs - of which MrBeast apparently knows there is no excuse for.

According to the NYT, it spoke to eleven people who had worked with MrBeast some of whom had stories of bad behaviour behind-the-scenes when the camera wasn't rolling. Included in the bullying allegations, MrBeast has also been accused of using a phrase to refer to people with mental disabilities at one editor, causing significant amounts of distress. Additionally, credit for work was apparently withheld. Others quit shortly after working due to unreasonable demands from what is described as MrBeast's "perfectionist" state of mind.

When creators came forward with stories like this, MrBeast's community would attack them - though likely many of them are children from MrBeast's demographics, death threats would ensue. MrBeast has allegedly done very little to prevent these mobs, with no discussion of these topics in his day-to-day content, carrying on as normal.

MrBeast continues to succeed in his work, however, boasting bigger and bigger projects all the time with a team now of around 50 individuals. He'll continue making more elaborate videos, pranks, and challenges for a long time to come, there is no doubt about it. You can read the full perspective of accusations from The New York Times.
