Zack Snyder's 'Justice League' Is A Hit, According To Early Reviews

The first reviews of Zack Snyder's legendary four-hour version of Justice League are in, and the overwhelming consensus is that the director's original vision for the DC team-up movie is far superior to the messy and tonally uneven mess that was originally released in cinemas in 2017.

Let's start with a brief history lesson for those that might not be clued up. Zack Snyder had to step away from working on Justice League in the wake of an unimaginable family tragedy. Warner Bros. then enlisted Joss Whedon (Avengers Assemble, Buffy The Vampire Slayer) to finish off what Snyder had started. This led to reshoots, re-writes, allegations of a horrendous workplace environment, unprofessional conduct from Whedon, and a movie that ended up disappointing everybody.

In the years since Justice League flopped, fans have been begging for the Snyder Cut, a completely re-tooled version of the movie that would allow Snyder to finish the film the way he wanted. While I'm the last person who would stand in line for Snyder's po-faced and self-serious take on DC's best and brightest heroes, I was happy to see the fans happy when the Snyder Cut was finally announced.

For the past year or so Snyder has been allowed, free of studio interference, to re-edit and reshoot Justice League the way he originally wanted to. And it's good, at least according to those who have seen it. Well, it's better than the Whedon version of Justice League, anyway... but so is getting hit in the face with a poo-smothered oar for two hours straight, so that might not be saying much.

Honestly, there's a little part of me that kind of wants to see this now. Kind of.
