'God Of War' Knockoff Appears On Xbox Store, Looks Absolutely Awful

We’re well over halfway through the year, but we still have plenty of glorious game releases ahead of us before 2022 draws to a close. The most anticipated of which has to be God of War Ragnarök. Kratos and Atreus’ journey is due to continue on 9 November, and we’re all pretty excited about it.

We’re finally going to be able to explore some of those previously locked realms, and it looks like Kratos will be teaming up with Fenrir. Ahead of the game’s release, it’s natural that some players are going to want to experience 2018’s God of War for the first time so with searches on the rise, one indie studio seems to be trying to cash-in on the action.

Check out the latest trailer for God of War Ragnarök below.

As I’m sure you’re aware, God of War and its upcoming sequel God of War Ragnarök are both PlayStation console exclusives. That being said, from time to time, you may get the odd person mistakenly searching for the game on the Xbox Store. Well, they may just find Dolaka LTD’s War Gods Zeus Of Child which looks utterly cursed.

The character model is an exact copy of God of War’s Kratos, albeit with lower-quality graphics. Details on the game are thin on the ground but it’s classed as an action-adventure and retails for £3.39. You may be wondering how such blatant plagiarism has come to be listed on Microsoft’s Xbox Store.

It looks like the game might be part of the Xbox Creators Collection, an area often used by indie studios and creators to list purchasable games without Microsoft’s full approval and review. Now that War Gods Zeus Of Child has gone viral though, Microsoft appears to have taken note as the listing has disappeared.

Over at Eurogamer, they took the game for a spin prior to its delisting and described it as a “worthless, minutes-long experience where you make Kratos slash aimlessly at a never-ending stream of enemies in an arena environment.” Dull.

The mysterious Dolaka LTD also appears to have ripped off Fall Guys with Dinosaur Falling Survival, which is hilariously rated PEGI 18 for extreme violence. That’s not all. You’ve heard of Mario. Meet his knockoff, Classic Platformer Mariones. Please, stop Dolaka LTD.
