One of the most iconic friendships in Grand Theft Auto V is undoubtedly the one shared between Lamar Davis and Franklin Clinton.

As much as the legendary duo might bicker and row, it's clear that they do properly care for one another. Just look at the fact that Lamar is still working with Franklin nearly a decade later in GTA Online's recently released GTA V story expansion: The Contract.

For those who haven't been paying attention, The Contract stars Franklin as he works alongside old friends to build up his budding client solutions business.

"In the years since he and his accomplices knocked over the Union Depository, renowned Los Santos hustler Franklin Clinton has been making moves of his own," the official synopsis teases.

Lamar is, of course, one of the familiar faces Franklin has asked to join him in this new venture - and I'm delighted to report their dynamic hasn't changed at all in the last several years.

No doubt you're aware of the "Lamar roasts Franklin" meme that first swept the internet eight years ago when Lamar gave his old mate a brutal verbal beating on the doorstep of his own home. It spawned a ton of tribute videos that star everyone from Kermit The Frog to Kratos, but nothing quite beats the original.

Brilliantly, it's eight years later and Lamar is still roasting poor Franklin in front of his house. As you can see below, Mr Davis still has a truly beautiful way with words. I might get "funky ass cum-bucket" tattooed on my arm.

Oh, and I guess Franklin has kids now? And they love Uncle Lamar more? Amazing. I'm honestly loving catching up with these characters after so long - let's just hope The Contract isn't the end of these GTA V story expansions.
