Pricing has finally been officially confirmed for the impending new-gen remaster of Grand Theft Auto V, and it's actually way cheaper than we expected.
There had been growing concern that Rockstar was going to charge a premium for the "expanded and enhanced" re-release of GTA V on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, which wasn't helped at all by Rockstar's complete lack of communication on the subject.
Now, with just one week to go until its March 15 release, we at last know how much the new version of GTA V will cost on each platform.

The good news is that GTA V will be heavily discounted on both consoles, although PlayStation users are getting an undeniably better deal.
As spotted by VGC, pre-orders for the new-gen GTA V have gone live, revealing that the single-player Story Mode will be 75% off for the first three months on PS5, and 50% off on Xbox Series X. The PS5 version is currently available to pre-order for £8.75. Xbox users will have to pay £17.49.
It's also worth noting that GTA Online will be available to PlayStation Plus subscribers to claim for free for the next free months. However, Xbox users will have to fork out an extra £8.99. It'll also require Xbox Live Gold to play.
This means that for the first three months, PlayStation owners can play GTA V and GTA Online for less than a tenner, while Xbox users will have to pay over twice that amount for the whole package. There's also some concern that GTA V requires GTA Online to play, which would be a particularly sneaky hidden cost.

The discounts aren't permanent, of course. Three months on from launch, GTA V will cost £35 on both platforms. For now, however, if you own both new-gen consoles and want to get Rockstar's open-world crime sim again, PS5 is the clear choice.
