Last night Rockstar Games announced a brand-new story focused expansion for Grand Theft Auto Online, which is essentially a story expansion set years after the events of Grand Theft Auto V.
The Contract will star Franklin Clinton, one of GTA V's three playable protagonists. Players will work alongside Franklin and a handful of other familiar faces as they help to build his budding client solutions business.
"In the years since he and his accomplices knocked over the Union Depository, renowned Los Santos hustler Franklin Clinton has been making moves of his own," reads the expansions official description. Check out the trailer below.

While it's great that we're finally checking back in with one of GTA V's main characters after all these years, a lot of fans have had the same reaction to this latest announcement: "Where is GTA VI?"
As I'm sure you're all-too aware, GTA V was released back in 2013. It's been re-released multiple times in the years since, and GTA Online continues to receive much of Rockstar's focus. This doesn't mean GTA VI isn't being worked on, of course - we understand that it definitely is (or has been) in development - but that doesn't stop fans from equating new GTA Online content with a longer wait for GTA VI.
The initial reaction to The Contract has been mostly positive, but there are still those who are dying to know when GTA VI will finally rear its head.
"This game is going to end up on the Guinness World Record for oldest console game that won't die," said one YouTube commentator of the latest expansion.
Take a look at some of the other reactions below:

The Contract will be available as a free update for GTA Online from December 15. GTA VI will be available... at some point in the next few years. Probably.
