'GTA 5' Story Expansion Starring Franklin And Dr Dre Announced For 'GTA Online'

'GTA 5' Story Expansion Starring Franklin And Dr Dre Announced For 'GTA Online'

It's about time

Rockstar Games has announced a brand-new story focused expansion for Grand Theft Auto Online, set years after the events Grand Theft Auto V.

'The Contract' will star Franklin, one of GTA V's three playable protagonists. Franklin, Michael, and Trevor have not been seen in GTA Online before now.

"In the years since he and his accomplices knocked over the Union Depository, renowned Los Santos hustler Franklin Clinton has been making moves of his own," reads the expansions official description.

Set for release on December 15, this free expansion will follow Franklin as he works on building a "celebrity solutions agency called F. Clinton And Partner", a budding company that works with Los Santos' richest citizens to solve their problems - whatever they may be.

As announced via Rockstar Newswire, players will be introduced to Franklin through Lamar Davis before being tasked with helping them take the business to new heights.

Dr Dre, who has composed new music for the game, will also make an appearance. During the story, GTA V radio host DJ Pooh will contact Franklin and task the player with tracking down the iconic rapper's phone, which is filled with shiny new tracks. All new story missions in the expansion can be done alone or with friends.

Rockstar has also hinted that there'll be plenty of callbacks to GTA V. Players will work with Franklin to explore his old neighborhood, travel to Los Santos parties, and even team up with Chop the dog. It's heartening to know that lil dude is still alive and kicking after all this time.

There'll be more info on all the new weapons, vehicles, content, and more "in the coming days".
