GTA 6 job listing seemingly confirms multiple time periods

A new Rockstar Games job listing seemingly confirms that GTA 6 might feature multiple time periods.

You know what I’m going to say, don’t you? But I have to say it. We’re no closer to finding out when Grand Theft Auto VI is set to release. You can rely on fans though to enter detective-mode, finding all there is to possibly know about the game in the meantime.

GTA VI has reportedly been in the works for over a decade, so it stands to reason that we should be nearing a reveal. It’s been teased that the game could eventually release in 2025, although 2024 has been thrown around too - and neither of these release windows have been confirmed so I’d take this with a pinch of salt. In recent weeks though, we’ve discovered that the game’s police will receive a major overhaul compared to previous games (including behavioral changes) plus it’s seemingly bringing back the chainsaw. In the latest discovery, a job listing has been uncovered that seems to hint towards multiple time periods.

Rockstar Games have just announced a PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch port of Red Dead Redemption. Take a look at the trailer below.

As reported by GameRant, Rockstar Games’ career page is currently seeking out a Character Assembly Artist at the Toronto studio. The candidate should have: “A focused appreciation and understanding of fashion and street style, and era-specific culture and demographics as they relate to costuming and look.” The key phrasing here is ‘era-specific’.

Now, let’s put this in context. We don’t know for certain that this role is to work on GTA VI. It could be a new Rockstar Games IP. That being said though, it’s long been rumoured that GTA VI will partly be set in the 1980s. It’s thought that players may experience the 80s via narrative flashbacks. It’s something that’s been teased by multiplier insiders.

The same insiders claim that the game will also take us to Cuba as well as Vice City. We’ll have to await official confirmation from Rockstar Games. That shouldn’t be an issue though - us GTA fans have gotten pretty good at waiting.
