It turns out that the in-development Grand Theft Auto VI might not actually be the next Grand Theft Auto game to release.

Fans have waited patiently (more or less) for the sequel to GTA V for close to ten years now, and we still don't really have any idea what the game is about, what it looks like, or when it's coming. Heck, it was only a few months ago that Rockstar Games actually confirmed the game was in development.

Take a look at everything we know about GTA VI below!

While we can assume/hope that GTA VI will launch in the next few years, a new report doing the rounds suggests that we're going to get another remaster/remake before then.

Fans will no doubt remember last year saw the disastrous launch of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition, an offensively bad compilation of remasters that managed to piss all over the legacy of GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas.

Not to be deterred from the overwhelmingly negative reception to those renewed games, it sounds like Rockstar is now planning a return to Liberty City via a GTA IV remaster.

Xfire reports that the in-development remake will be "contained in a bundle with two other GTA games, which could very well be the original game's two excellent single-player expansions.

While you should obviously take this with a pinch of salt, this isn't the first we've heard of a GTA IV remaster. According to Twitter user @RalphsValve, a typically reliable source who leaked a ton of Call Of Duty info last year, a brand-new version of GTA IV will be released in 2023.

Given the sudden influx of Rockstar remakes and remasters, we wouldn't be surprised to see the underrated GTA adventure sooner rather than later. Watch this space.
