There have been plenty of conversations about the Grand Theft Auto Trilogy - The Definitive Edition’s failure to reproduce elements of the original games. Many of them boil down to the character model and glitches that game less enjoyable. And as we’re writing this story, the PC version of the game is completely unplayable as Rockstar has taken it away as it tries to remove content from the files of the game. As it turns out, though, some of the game’s best environmental jokes have been lost in the upgrade.
If you’re familiar with the games, you may know signs over shops will sometimes be a joke in themselves. Two shops, however, have lost what made them funny. Fans on Twitter and Reddit have expressed that they’re upset with the changes made to Shaft Hot Hogs and a guitar shop.
Here is the trailer for the GTA Trilogy - The Definitive Edition…
The former, Shaft Hot Dogs, is present in GTA: Vice City and originally had the slogan: “The taste of a real man’s meat.” In The Definitive Edition, this has been replaced with “The Taste of a real man’s heat” which contextually doesn’t even make sense. It seems AI didn’t manage to read the sign right.

And secondly, a guitar sign is muddled in more ways than one. Wootmaster on Twitter shows that a sign for Screamin’ Colins Guitars which has significantly changed with the Vice City remaster. They say: “Oh god, they used AI to upscale the signs in the GTA "remasters", so a lot of the classic jokes are lost because the algorithm just guessed. They didn't even check. "Guitar w*nk" becomes "guitar henk" and "Air Guitar" becomes "AR guitar".”
These jokes are just a long list of issues people are piling onto the list of what could be improved with the remaster. There is a lot of work to do if it’s going to make fans happy.
