Halo TV Show Already Has Season 2 Confirmed

How about that Halo TV series then? In case you weren’t aware, yup, that’s a thing that’s happening - it was first (properly) shown off during The Game Awards late last year, and according to IMDB, is set to run for a total of nine episodes (although other websites are claiming that there’s going to be 10, so that’s a bit hazy at the minute).

We got our most recent trailer for the series late last month, and it sure looks like something. The consensus by non-Halo fans was generally that it looks decent, if not a bit CGI heavy. The opinions of Halo fans on the other hand, who, y’know, you’d probably consider to be the target audience for the series, were something else entirely. Very few people on the internet seemed optimistic - the lack of actual Halo music in the trailer and the fact that Cortana isn’t blue anymore were just two points of contention. Oh, and don’t get them started on Master Chief’s voice.

What I’m trying to say is that it’s very debatable whether or not people are actually going to enjoy the series or not. Which isn’t ideal, when as reported by GamesRadar+, a second season of it has just been confirmed, over a month before the first one is set to premiere. 

“Halo takes us into a dazzling world that we believe will enthral audiences as much with its electrifying visuals as its bold, character-driven storytelling,” said David Nevins, Paramount Plus’ chief content officer. “This second-season pickup reflects the confidence we have in the power of this epic series to attract and engage viewers. Halo has been a great collaboration with Amblin and 343 Industries, and we are all grateful for the opportunity to continue it.”

So, that’s a thing. There’s not too long to wait until that first season airs - it’ll be shown exclusively on Paramount+ from 24 March. Does anyone actually use Paramount+? I'd guess that a lot more people will do for the sake of this, even if the series is looking questionable in its quality. We’ll just have to wait and see.
