World War 2 Shooter 'Hell Let Loose' Gets Huge Update Fans Have Been Begging For

The game's latest update introduces new nighttime variants to existing maps, ahead of the game's free weekend (which kicks off on Thursday).

Team 17’s hardcore 100-player tactical shooter, Hell Let Loose, has just received a massive content update on PC, which is sure to make things even more immersive and atmospheric.

The update, titled Falling Dark, is the “most significant package of new content” for the game since the 11th update, Outflank, which released last December. As well as a new map, weapon and vehicle, Falling Dark introduces nighttime variants to five existing maps, because daytime is overrated, obviously. The devs didn’t actually say that, but nighttime battles are sure to be cool.

Take a look at the trailer for the Falling Dark update below.

“In addition to the immersive atmosphere of low light and night-time battles across five of the games’ collection of maps, Falling Dark sees Warfare and German Offensive game modes come to the iconic Omaha Beach map, which now also includes spawning points within landing crafts for greater authenticity,” a press release reads. “The new ‘precision strike’ Commander ability allows each side to call upon aerial support of iconic fighter planes, including the Ju-87 Stuka and P47 Thunderbolt, against entrenched enemies such as tightly knit infantry positions, exposed garrisons, and stationary vehicles, while the new ‘ammo drop’ ability delivers emergency stocks of medical supplies, ammunition, and explosives for soldiers.”

What’s more, if you don’t already own the game, it’s been confirmed that a free weekend will be running later this week (from 21 July to 24 July), on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5, so it’s the perfect time to try it out, either alone or with friends. Even better, if you end up loving it, it’ll also be 33% off on PC, and 30% off on both the Microsoft and PlayStation Store. Just keep in mind that as of now, this new update is only available on PC, so no nighttime escapades for console folks.
