Here Is Our First Proper Look At The Halo TV Show... Yep, That's Halo

You say Halo, I say... also Halo

So that Halo TV show, eh? Yep. A huge gaming franchise with millions of fans, book spin-offs, merch and more is now getting a television adaptation. And yes, it is absolutely just more Halo. Which is to say: we’ve just got our first look at what the show on Paramount+ will look like, and it’s exactly what you’d expect. Master Chief is our only hope: check. Alien worlds: check. Classic Halo logo reveal (and that theme, too) at the end: check.

But then, it’s not a bad thing that Halo is looking to be exactly what we expected. And to be fair, the trailer doesn’t give much away apart from some settings and a good look at some of the characters we’ll be encountering on the journey. Honestly, if you didn’t include the shots of Master Chief in the trailer, I might have assumed this is Star Trek Discovery rather than a gaming-related show. Discovery is actually also made by Paramount, so I guess that does make sense.

Here is the trailer for Halo...

But yes, Halo is Halo. And it makes perfect sense for this trailer to come out now, in the wake of the release of Halo Infinite. The hype for the game is at a high right now, only makes sense for a TV show to tie it all together. (Hey, here's our review of Halo Infinite, if you've not checked it out.)

The description of the show under the YouTube video says: “Dramatising an epic 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as the Covenant, Halo the series will weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure and a richly imagined vision of the future. Halo the series will be streaming in 2022, exclusively on Paramount+.”

You may already know that Pablo Schreiber will be playing Master Chief / John-117. And the rest of the cast includes Natascha McElhone as Dr. Halsey, Jen Taylor as Cortana, and Bokeem Woodbine as Soren-066. We now wait patiently to see more of the show in the coming year.
