Here’s Our First Look At Massive ‘Apex Legends’ Map Storm Point

Though battle royales will get new heroes, new weapons, and maybe fun new events - the main event is often when a new map launches. Of course, any new content to a live service game will be an excellent addition but when you’ve got a whole new map to play on, especially when it’s the biggest the game has seen yet, it’s downright electrifying.

And so Respawn Entertainment has revealed Apex Legends biggest map to date, Storm Point, and it looks ridiculously fun. Season 11, called Escape, takes place on a beautiful sandy island, once again changing up the background for your epic battles. And according to the blog post from Respawn, it’s the biggest of the maps yet by 15% - so how are you expected to get around them with a ring of death closing in on you? Well, gravity cannons of course, silly!

Here is the trailer for Storm Point and season 11 of Apex Legends...

That’s right, there are now Gravity Cannons to play with. As the post says: “redeploy balloons are gone. In their place are the Gravity Cannons and they're an excellent method to outrun the ring”. While the balloons prevented you from firing back at any enemies during your flight, cannons will allow you to shoot and use any of your abilities, grenades or ultimates while in the air.

This island is a little more PvPvE too, with wildlife that will kill you if given the chance so make sure once you’re out of a firefight, you’re not throwing yourself into another battle with the locals. If you’re interested in seeing what else Respawn and EA have up their sleeves for you in season 11 from the spiders to the cannons, you can check the post here for even more details on what to expect.
