Hogwarts Legacy 2 needs to be more like Bully, fans agree

Hogwarts Legacy fans are in agreement that a possible sequel to the Wizarding World phenomenon should be more like Rockstar Games’ classic title Bully, introducing an improved student life system.

There’s no denying that Hogwarts Legacy is a colossal commercial success. It was recently unveiled that the game has already surpassed the $1 billion mark in sales, and given that it’s only just launched on previous-gen consoles and still has the Nintendo Switch release to go, I’d imagine that number will only continue to grow. You can’t blame fans for theorising about what a potential sequel might look like then. While Hogwarts Legacy is beloved by fans, there’s plenty of room for improvement. Players want to see a working companion system as well as a playable version of Quidditch. Now, they’ve also suggested that it would be great to see a Bully-style school system introduced.

Reddit user me6675 took to the site to say, “Anybody played Bully? It did the boarding school fantasy way better with way less content, two decades ago. I really just wanted Bully in a HP skin. [...] I just wish it was either a more student-life focused game, or one where you play as a troubled kid turning to the dark arts / running from the law while on a spiralling trip of destruction and greed.”

Other players agreed that Hogwarts’ school system could’ve been expanded. For those who haven’t played the game, you’re given quests and assignments in the early stages where you’ll attend a class, watch a short cutscene, and learn a spell. Sometimes you have to complete open world tasks before you can learn said spell. After the initial 8 to 10 hours or so, there’s very little reason to return to any of Hogwarts’ classrooms for much of the rest of the game.

Jedi4Hire wrote, “If there was an award for missed potential, Hogwarts Legacy would win the gold,” while CIassicNegan added, “Would’ve loved that too. It’s a shame there was so little to do. There was a lot to see in this game, just not a lot to do.” One dataminer actually recently uncovered files pertaining to a possible House Point system that would’ve been somewhat akin to what’s featured in Bully.
