Hogwarts Legacy gets gorgeous 'realistic' graphics overhaul

Hogwarts Legacy gets gorgeous 'realistic' graphics overhaul

This elevates the game to higher heights.

If you're a PC player of Hogwarts Legacy and the game's shine is starting to lose its luster, then this mod is gaining a lot of community recognition for upgrading the world's graphics to a whole new level.

"Every inch of the game is filled with that familiar magic," we said in our review of Hogwarts Legacy, though more core gamers might become tired of the repetitive combat encounters. But that's the thing - Hogwarts Legacy appeals to those who have been waiting years for a open world interpretation of the classic fantasy series on the newest generation of consoles.

However, the missing features that fans were eyeing up, like multiplayer, have been remedied in mods. Mods can be magnificent additions to a game, allowing the community to customise or ameliorate their experiences to their liking, even the Shrek and Thomas the Tank Engine ones. No shame here.

Take a tour of the game's charming common rooms for Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin below:

Scottyus1's reshade mod (available via Nexus Mods) boosts the visuals of Hogwarts Legacy hugely, and if you're a shutterbug, we would definitely recommend giving this one a go. The difference is marked and still ensures elements of the game's user interface are visible and readable. This is only possible on the PC version of the game and luckily should not conflict with any other texture packs you have installed if you're wanting to properly push your machine to higher heights.

"This paired with another mod to make the games performance better has made this game so insanely gorgeous and much more immersive/fun! I couldn't find that sweet spot between performance and fidelity and thanks to you I now can!" praised one player.

To the players who have explored the entirety of the game, inside out and back to front, we advise you get really good at twiddling your thumbs. This is because Avalanche Software has no intentions to start working on DLC for Hogwarts Legacy any time soon. If there were to be post-launch content, fans are pretty certain it would be centred on Quidditch, which is a divisive guess.
