How To Get New PS Plus Premium For Half Price

How To Get New PS Plus Premium For Half Price

Today, PlayStation announced their new overhauled subscription service, launching in June - here's how to get a year of Premium way cheaper.

So, it finally happened. Earlier today, PlayStation officially unveiled their overhaul of PlayStation Plus, which is…basically exactly what everyone expected it’d be. Pretty much every rumour we’d heard about it was true - as well as the benefits we already knew and (arguably) loved, subscribers will also get access to a library of over 700 games, from PS5 and PS4, and going all the way back to the older console archives too.

Well, they will if they’re willing to pay the price, anyway. Also as we expected, Sony weren’t just going to hand over a whole load of extras for the same price as the current PS Plus subscription - the all-new service is being broken down into tiers, ranging from the same price as before, all the way up to an eye-watering £99.99/$119.99 a year for the “Premium” tier.

God of War is one of the titles which will be available on the overhauled PS Plus service when it goes live - check out this incredible deleted line from the game below.

Predictably, although those who pay for the “Extra” tier will get access to some of this game library, only Premium users will be able to play everything. On top of the full list of titles, they also get cloud streaming and time-limited game trials. Basically, Premium is the one everyone will want, but it’s also going to put a dent in your bank account. Except, it turns out you can actually get it for half price for the first year, with one very easy step.

PlayStation have confirmed that anyone subscribed to PS Now when the new service goes live (sometime in June) will automatically be upgraded to PlayStation Plus Premium at no extra cost. I’m sure you see where this is going now - as it stands, a year of PS Now will cost you £49.99/$59.99, so if you buy a year’s subscription right before the overhaul, you’ll be able to get a full year of Premium at half price.

So, that’s an easy way to save some cash, eh? There’s really no reason not to give this a go if you were already interested in trying out Premium, although you probably want to make sure you’re subscribed before June, as we don’t currently know exactly when in the month the service will be changing over. You can buy a lot of Freddos with 50 quid, I’m just saying.
