Immortals Fenyx Rising is an 'underrated gem' that deserves a sequel, fans agree

Fans of Immortals Fenyx Rising are in agreement that the game is an 'underrated gem' that deserves a sequel.

Fans of Immortals Fenyx Rising are in agreement that this ‘underrated gem’ is totally deserving of a sequel. If only Ubisoft would listen.

Ubisoft has had a tricky couple of years. It looks as if the publisher is set to return to annual Assassin’s Creed releases following the quiet cancellation of three unannounced games - a result of a troublesome financial year. It’s no surprise really. Outside of the AC franchise, Ubisoft are pinning their hopes on Skull and Bones and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora - two hugely delayed games that fans are, on the whole, pretty skeptical about. Assassin’s Creed Mirage is set to kick off this new flurry of AC games but Ubisoft fans would also like to see an Immortals Fenyx Rising sequel drafted into the publisher’s future release slate.

Take a look at Assassin’s Creed Mirage in action below.

If you’ve never played Immortals Fenyx Rising, the game released back in 2020. It’s essentially a third-person action-adventure game that sees players assume the role of Fenyx, a mortal who must stop the evil Typhon after he escapes from the underworld. The PS5 version received a score of 77 on Metacritic, which isn’t bad at all. The PC score sits at 79, while the Xbox Series X score sits slightly higher at 81.

Over on Reddit, user fearlessmojo wrote, “Ubisoft said they’ll focus more on the AC series, but I wish they’d make a sequel to this underrated gem.” The post garnered a whopping 5,900 upvotes with plenty of people agreeing.

Filipjfry10 wrote, “I feel like just because it’s Ubisoft, people overlooked it but I thought it was really good,” while Iristro added, “I found this a while back and had never heard of it. Played the whole game in four days. Best four days of my life.” I’ll admit, I’ve had it sitting in my backlog for several years. Maybe I should stop neglecting it.
