Every now and then, Hollywood manages a piece of casting so spot-on, so incredibly perfect, that I have to wonder why it was never done sooner. John Krasinski being tapped for the role of Superman in an upcoming DC movie is one such example of god-tier casting.
The Office star and A Quiet Place director will play the Man Of Steel in DC's League Of Super Pets when it hits cinemas early next year. I should note that this is an animated feature, meaning anyone hoping to see Krasinski as a live-action Superman is out of luck - for now.
Take a look at very different kind of DC animated movie below:

Krasinski will star as Superman alongside Dwayne Johnson, who will be playing four-legged sidekick Krypto the Superdog. Marc Maron will play the villainous Lex Luthor, and Kevin Hart is playing Ace, the Bathound. Keanu Reeves is even set to appear in an undisclosed role which I'm going to bet right now ends up being Batman. It's a hell of a cast for a movie about superheroes and their pets, I have to say. I'm fully here for it.
"Always wanted to do a buddy movie with [Dwayne Johnson]," Krasinski tweeted, revealing what his version of Superman will look like. "Well, these are the roles we were born to play! (FYI... DJ's the one with the tongue)."

After a string of COVID-related delays, DC League of Super-Pets is currently scheduled to land in cinemas on May 20, 2022. It should be a big year for DC fans, with The Batman, The Flash, Black Adam, and Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom all expected around then.
