Lad watches American Pie with grandma, films her hilarious reactions

A lad has shared his grandmother’s reaction to one of American Pie’s infamous sex scenes, and the results are as awkward as you’d expect.

I’m sure we’ve all experienced that moment of watching a film with family members, and awkwardly having to look at the floor or a phone when a sex scene happens on the screen. For me, it was when I was watching GoldenEye with my grandparents, whenever that particular character appeared on screen. Well, Kaelin Maddison seemingly picked the worst film to watch around a family member, American Pie, which he watched with his grandmother, leading to an unsurprisingly uncomfortable viewing experience of the R-rated flick.

If you’re unfamiliar with the plot of American Pie, it’s pretty simple. A group of friends entering adulthood are disappointed that their virginities remain intact. They decide to take action and make it their mission to lose them, resulting in a series of embarrassing but hilarious events, kicking off a series of films.

We’ll admit that it has aged terribly, with jokes and humour that weren’t written for the modern day, which will likely put a lot of people off, but it remains a fondly remembered movie nevertheless. Given how the plot literally revolves around guys wanting to lose their virginity, it’s no surprise that you’d likely want to watch this one with friends, your partner, or by yourself for the least awkward viewing experience.

Sharing the moment on his TikTok account, Maddison captioned the video: "Watching American Pie with my grandma and the shagging bit comes on," followed by, “Well that was awkward."

Out of all the films to watch with your nan, American Pie wouldn’t even be in the top 100, but it made for a very funny video to share online.

Luckily, Maddison’s grandmother seemed relatively unfazed by the awkward moment, and we’re sure the two laughed it off afterward, although you’d hope it’s made Kaelin reconsider what he puts on the telly in the future.
