LEGO Fortnite is here to stay forever, Epic confirms

If you were concerned that LEGO Fortnite was a limited-time mode, allow me to put your mind at ease. Epic Games has confirmed that LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival are permanent new modes and here to stay.

It’s been a busy couple of months for Fortnite. It’s always been one of the most successful multiplayer releases out there, but it reached dizzying new heights with the release of the previous Fortnite OG season. The game reached a whopping 100 million players throughout the month of November. For me personally, Fortnite OG was a major downgrade without the lens of nostalgia but the game is so back with the excellent Chapter 5, Season 1: Underground. The day the update was released, the player count exceeded that of Fortnite OG’s first day. In fact, I had to queue around 40 minutes to even enter the game. Since then, a couple of new modes have made their way onto Fortnite’s launcher.

It’s not just Battle Royale and Zero Build we’re all enjoying these days. LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival have already proved to be huge hits. Many have hailed LEGO Fortnite as the best LEGO game to date, with others adding that this freebie feels as good as a $70 release. If you’re yet to dive in, it’s a crafting survival adventure. Think Minecraft but if you came across Dark Souls-esque beasts that can take you out in one hit.

Rocket Racing is, what you’d expect, a racer while Fortnite Festival is a new rhythm game. Fortnite is known for running limited-time events, such as the OG season, leading many fans to wonder whether the three latest modes would be sticking around. “Howdy friends. Seeing some chatter around our newly launched games and people worried that they may not stick around,” Epic Games wrote on Twitter.

“To clarify: these are brand new games entirely - not LTM’s [Limited time events]. Fear not. LEGO Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival are here to stay with regular updates.” I can see LEGO Fortnite in particular having a long and prosperous future.
