The Star Wars prequel film trilogy has been on a rollercoaster ride over the years, huh? Released to mixed and negative reviews, Star Wars purists didn’t exactly give the prequels the easiest of times. Admittedly, never has the phrase “I don’t like sand” ever sounded so cringeworthy, but oh how nostalgia makes the heart grow fonder.

The prequels are by no means perfect (Mesa looking at you, Jar Jar), but as we all dwell on our younger days, the prequels have found themselves framed by rose-tinted glasses leading to somewhat of a resurgence. With both Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen reprising their roles as Obi-Wan and Anakin, respectively, in the upcoming Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi, we’re rich with prequel-related content - and it looks like Liam Neeson wants in on the action.

In preparation for Obi-Wan Kenobi, take a look at the latest 'Darth' TV spot below.

In case you’ve fallen victim to a memory wipe, Liam Neeson portrayed Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace and whilst there’s no concrete plans for the character to return, Neeson would be interested in reprising the role in a Star Wars movie… just not on a Disney+ limited series.

Speaking to ComicBook.com about a potential return to the franchise, Neeson commented, “Oh, I think so, yeah, yeah, yeah, I think so... if it was a film. Yeah, I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to TV, I must admit. I just like the big screen [...] I can't believe it's 24 years since we made The Phantom Menace. I just cannot believe where the time has gone. It was a terrific experience, shooting that film in London."

From Ahsoka to Cad Bane, several fan-favourite Star Wars characters have found their way onto the Disney+ small screen, but Neeson’s latest comments don’t fill us with much hope of expecting a Qui-Gon flashback cameo in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series. It’s possible that Neeson is throwing us off the scent, but the man seems pretty against a TV return. Sigh.
