"Literally Unplayable" 'Warzone' And 'Modern Warfare' Updates Lead To Mass Uninstallations

Call Of Duty fans are frustrated and tired as multiple games in the behemoth franchise have been left borderline broken for the past few days.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call Of Duty: Warzone are facing the biggest issues right now, with many players choosing to cut their losses and uninstall the games due to unexpected crashes, long queue times, and a particularly annoying bug in which the shooters end up stuck on a loop between the home menu and loading screen.

“We’re working to fix an issue causing players to get caught in an update loop,” Activision said of the issue, which is apparently mostly impacting PS4 and Xbox One players. “In some cases, the game appears to be uninstalling and reinstalling game data.”

Modern Warfare is being described by several players as straight-up "broken" at this point. A number of users are struggling to download updates that have left them completely unable to play the game, while those who are able to get in are stuck with bugs, crashes, and other irritating issues.

"All this has done has made me never want to buy a COD again," wrote one user on Reddit. "Worse, I won’t ever recommend the series again."

While Warzone is faring slightly better on a technical level, players are still unhappy with the latest holiday update. Developers have introduced a near-unstoppable Krampus killer to the battle royale that only seems to have caused more headaches and drawn criticism. Players are wondering why Raven Software has added a goofy monster to Warzone when there are more substantial issues that need addressing.

“The fact that Modern Warfare is literally unplayable and it’s on sale in time for the holidays is f*cking absurd,” noted Call Of Duty insider Tom Henderson shared on Twitter earlier this week. “Warzone Caldera is a mess on consoles too. And there’s been 0 acknowledgment from Activision and its development studios.”

It can't be a coincidence that the sorry state of these games comes at a time when Activision is dealing with mass developer walkouts over its questionable leadership, harassment allegations, and recent mass firings of Raven Software's Quality Assurance team. Ironically, QA is something the company could really do with right now.
