Fallout: London 2024 release date announced, looks like best Fallout in years

Fallout: London is finally coming

Fallout: London finally has a release date, and it still looks like the most exciting Fallout game in a long, long time.

While it's great to see Fallout 76 finally find its groove, many would agree the Fallout series is at its very best when it's purely focused on offering an immersive single-player experience. Enter Fallout: London, a brand-new fully fledged open-world Fallout adventure set in the English capital.

Check it out below!

While Fallout: London is a mod for Fallout 4, it's a damn impressive one. It's so authentic, in fact, that Bethesda actually offered one of the mod's lead devs a job. Ultimately, however, they turned the opportunity down to continue working on the expansion.

"As a divergence from previous official titles in the series, Fallout: London is not set in America," the team explains. "Visiting a totally new setting allows for us to explore totally new cultures which have not homogenized with their American counterparts. It also allows us to explore pre-war European history, and the effects the Resource Wars had on the class structured society of pre-war Britain."

Fallout: London was delayed last year because of Starfield, but now a release date is finally in sight. In a lengthy new video, the team explained Fallout: London will officially be available to download and play, for free, on April 23, 2024.

The game's original map will allow you to explore 15 London boroughs as you experience an entirely original story. There are also hundreds of new weapons, armour sets, enemies, buildings, side quests, characters, and secrets. Oh, and the game is fully voiced, and somehow managed to get former Doctor Who stars Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy to make an appearance. I'll be honest, that's always going to be enough to sell me on a game. We can only hope the London setting inspires many, many Doctor Who references and Easter eggs.
