Ludwig Ahgren, one of Twitch’s biggest stars and their quote-unquote “golden boy”, is leaving the live-streaming platform to stream on YouTube - and it turns out the creator flipped a coin to guide his decision.

Ludwig is one of the best-known streamers out there, especially after his month-long subathon earlier in 2021. He has a history working on both platforms during his rise to being a massive creator, and used a coin flip to decide where he should go next - and it landed on Twitch.

So, Ludwig is leaving Twitch for YouTube. The creator released a little comedic bit on Twitter yesterday (November 29, 2021) to signify his departure from Amazon’s platform and people, of course, began to ask why. What was YouTube offering that Twitch wasn’t? Well, in an interview with The Stanz Show, the creator spoke about his decision, and how even the platforms were up until the end, when he had to flip a coin.

Yep, although this is one of the most difficult decisions of Ludwig’s career, he flipped a coin to call it. And when he did, it landed on Twitch. He says: “I immediately felt this wave of relief because I was very anxious about change.” Following the flip, Ludwig called the YouTube negotiators, explained the coin flip, and they upped their offer to outmatch Twitch’s. At that point Ludwig chose to leave and move platforms.

Ludwig’s passion isn’t really just streaming. The content creator likes making YouTube videos, gameshows, Smash tournaments and more. He’s got bigger plans for his work than just being live, and it seems YouTube is a lot more accommodating toward that. He’s now set to be yet another great addition to YouTube’s roster, alongside Valkyrae, Dr Lupo, CouRage and more.
