‘Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ Brand New Gameplay Shows Captain America In Action

Brand new Marvel's Midnight Suns gameplay shows off some of Captain America's unique abilities.

Thor: Love and Thunder may be underwhelming fans but there are plenty of exciting new Marvel projects just around the corner. I think it’s fair to say most of us are eagerly awaiting the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 but until then, we have something else to look forward to.

Firaxis Games are gearing up to release their XCOM-like title Marvel’s Midnight Suns and they’ve released brand new gameplay footage showcasing Captain America.

Check out Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ latest gameplay reveal below. The game is scheduled to release on 7 October, 2022.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns sees a number of Marvel heroes team up to take down the evil Lilith and Hydra. The tactical RPG will explore the darker side of the Marvel universe and we’ve already been introduced to an amazing cast of playable characters including Spider-Man, Blade, Iron Man and Doctor Strange. It’s now time for Captain America to join those ranks.

The gameplay reveals a number of Cap’s usable powers. Obviously, he can use his shield to block attacks but Cap can also use it to generate massive power surges, knocking enemies back. The footage also shows that Captain America will have a ‘taunt’ ability which will allow him to choose to protect his allies. That sounds like good ol’ Cap.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns is set to receive a wide release, so will be available to purchase on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Windows PC via Steam, and from the Epic Games Store. The game will also be available on Nintendo Switch at a later date which is yet to be announced.

Previously, creative director of Marvel Games Bill Rosemann spoke about his excitement for the project which promises to explore “the darker, supernatural side of Marvel.” It’s certainly something I’d like to see more of, so it’s a promising start for Marvel’s Midnight Suns.
