YouTuber Minthical has chosen to "complete" Minecraft in the strangest yet most fanatical way possible - by mining every single block in a map that contains more than 45 million blocks.

Did I ever tell you what the definition of insanity is? Insanity is doing the exact same thing over and over again expecting it to change. Over the last five years, Minthical has been slowly but surely chipping away at the surroundings and the journey has been nothing short of epic. Minecraft doesn't have a core story or completable state, aside from killing the ender dragon, so the fact that the YouTuber is almost at the finish line is both impressive and baffling.

In the latest episode on their YouTube channel, they talk about how it's not only commitment to the game that's required, but commitment to the community that they gathered and improving on the quality of their videos. "My videos were not in the algorithm at all," they explained while smashing through blocks, careful not to hit the turtles. "It took two years to go from nothing to 48 subscribers. [You have to] be very responsive to the people that go into your community. I've hearted and liked I think every single comment this channel has ever received, including the replies." The day when Minthical mines that final block will be a momentous one indeed.
