Minecraft player creates adorable in-game date for his partner

A Minecraft player has created an adorable in-game date for his partner.

Despite initially releasing well over a decade ago, the ever-popular creative sandbox survival game Minecraft continues to be the gift that keeps on giving.

In the world of Minecraft, as long as your imagination and the in-game tools align, you can create just about anything you want in the classic from Mojang Studios. For example, a dedicated Star Wars fan has been building its entire universe one planet at a time and another has recreated the entire The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild map.

However, Minecraft can also provide some of the most wholesome moments in gaming, such as this 70-year-old Grandpa learning to play the game for the first time or the topic of today’s story, someone that's taken his partner on an adorable in-game date.

As reported by Game Rant, a Redditor shared images of a wonderful in-game candle lit dinner table surrounded by lanterns and blossom trees. In a real-life world that can be as chaotic as ours, it’s nice to encounter a feel-good story such as this one. “I organised a date with my gf because in real life we are low budget,” shared Redditor Millomedina.

The Reddit user revealed that not only did the couple get cosy in Minecraft together, but they also ate and interacted together via video chat. Oh, and they even got married in-game. Though we’re sure it wasn't a legally binding marriage, right? Obviously, the latter isn't true, but you never know where this cute relationship might lead. So we’re rooting for you, Mr and Mrs Minecraft!

The comments section of the Reddit thread was in full support of the Minecraft couple. “Doesn’t matter the location of the date. Virtual or real. You love each other and are having fun.” said ExiancePuppy. “That's so cute lol. Me and my husband created a homestead in survival together on his mega map and we really enjoyed working together to build it up,” replied CaveWoman5000. “So tbh just an evening playing Minecraft with your spouse/partner is a great date idea.”

In related news, in our review of Minecraft Legends, we said: “Strategy games often take themselves way too seriously whereas Minecraft Legends does the exact opposite. It’s an enjoyable, lighthearted hybrid that prioritises exploration as much as tactical battle gameplay.”

Minecraft and Minecraft Legends are available for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
