Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II may bring back all of the classic multiplayer maps of the original - including Favela, Terminal and Rust - as part of its ongoing live updates at an unknown point in the future.
This scoop comes from Twitter user TheGhostOfHope, who has been a rather reliable source for leaks, stating that a "trustworthy" messenger let them know that these maps are somewhere in the outlines for upcoming content updates for Modern Warfare II. "Infinity Ward are planning to release all/almost all Modern Warfare 2 (2009) maps together all at once some time during the post launch of Modern Warfare II (2022). Very likely this could be Year 2 content," they said.

This would comprise Afghan, Derail, Estate, Favela, Highrise, Invasion, Karachi, Quarry, Rundown, Rust, Scrapyard, Skidrow, Sub Base, and Terminal, if all of the maps make the leap to the newest version of Modern Warfare II.
TheGhostOfHope added that there is a "greatest hits" multiplayer map DLC in the works, appending "other classic maps from Infinity Ward, Treyarch & Sledgehammer's catalogue." Obviously, players have cherished memories scattering helter-skelter on these maps so this possible leak has turned a few heads. However, some are concerned that the paid aspect of the DLC will split the players.

"Release a paid legacy map pack to [rewards/celebrates] long time supporters of the franchise, in a game that does absolutely everything it can to punish and turn away diehard fans," said one.
