Modern Warfare 2 players say the Ghost perk has a serious flaw

Modern Warfare 2 players say the Ghost perk has a serious flaw

The perk has been changed in the past to level the playing field, but this looks like an error.

Those using the Ghost perk in Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II have stumbled upon an unfortunate side-effect with the UAV scan.

Unlocked at level 52, Ghost should stop players from being detected on UAVs, portable radars and heartbeat sensors. As such, it's indispensable for players that opt for a more stealthy approach to counter competitors who are aggressive, and a lot of effort goes into levelling to access the perk in the first place. Yet, it looks like it isn't actually working if we take a look at YouTuber JackFrags' gameplay.

Check out this incredibly skilled player who was the first to secure an MGB nuke using only snipers!

In this video posted to Twitter, JackFrags shows that there are two players on the opposing team, one with Ghost and one without the perk. JacksFrags then sets a UAV down which causes the player without Ghost to appear on the minimap. All fine and normal so far. However, when the player with Ghost starts shooting, they appear on the minimap too, and remain there for several more scans of the UAV.

You'll recall from the description of the perk that this is not right and so Ghost only becomes viable if you don't use your gun. Which is definitely a popular option in the multiplayer modes for Modern Warfare II. Ghost has been subject to small alterations in the past, like Black Ops 2 only activating the perk when the player is moving, but this seems to be a major oversight. Here's hoping Infinity Ward iron this bug out soon.
