MultiVersus, the new free-to-play platform fighter from Warner Bros. is actually way better than I was expecting it to be!

Developer Player First Games clearly understands what fans love about games like Super Smash Bros., offering up a diverse roster of characters with movesets that feel properly authentic to their character.

Finn from Adventure Time is a scrappy swordsman with action-RPG elements baked into his attacks. Superman is an absolute tank. Tom and Jerry basically just fight each other, with any damage to enemies being the collateral from their scraps.

A ton of love and effort has clearly into making each of the game's currently available roster feel just right, and that's great. Even better, given that MultiVersus is a free-to-play game that Warner Bros. clearly plans to support for a long time, you can bet your bottom dollar that more fighters will be added to the game post-launch.

While the game is currently only available in Closed Alpha, fans have managed to tear into MultiVersus' files to discover hints as to which characters might be on the way. And if you've seen Space Jam: A New Legacy, you won't be at all surprised to learn that Warner Bros. has apparently once again decided to throw all of its IP at the wall with unhinged abandon.

A new leak doing the rounds suggests that Rick Sanchez, of Rick And Morty, will be part of the game's roster when it launches later this year. This is one that's actually leaked a few times now, and isn't too surprising given the inclusion of some Rick And Morty content in the Closed Alpha.

Elsewhere, there's mention of Marvin The Martian (Looney Tunes), Legolas (The Lord Of The Rings), Black Adam (DC), Daenerys (Game Of Thrones), Joker (DC), and Scooby Doo. There's also a reference to LeBron James, which would make sense given his starring role in last year's Space Jam sequel.

Warner Bros. will undoubtedly officially announce and release new characters for MultiVersus on a failure regular basis after the game launches, and we'll be sure to update you as soon as we know more.
