Netflix Billboard Hints At Major 'Stranger Things 4' Death

Before we begin, this article will contain spoilers for Stranger Things 4 Vol. 1 so you’ve been warned. With that out of the way, I think it’s fair to say that Vol. 1 is Stranger Things’ best season yet. Unsurprisingly, the show has broken Netflix viewing records with over 286.79 million hours watched during Vol. 1’s debut weekend.

Vol. 2 drops tomorrow which means that we don’t have long to wait to find out what happens next but hey, we’ve got a few more hours to theorise so let’s make the most of it. Unfortunately, the current working theory is that a major fan-favourite might be meeting a grisly end.

Check out the trailer for Stranger Things 4 Vol. 2 before it drops on Netflix.

For a few weeks now, both Stranger Things’ cast and creatives have been teasing that Vol. 2 will contain a character death - or multiple deaths. We simply know that death is coming. Actor Noah Schnapp leaked as much and the Duffer brothers also dropped a few morbid teases.

When it comes to theorising who might die, there’s one character who’s coming up a lot, Steve - and a new Netflix billboard doesn’t bode well for his Vol.2 fate. Netflix took to Twitter to show off a billboard which reads, “Protect Steve,” captioned with the added “at all costs”. Actor Joe Keery has also been sporting shorter locks as of late, prompting many to fear Steve won’t be returning for season five.

You can see why many are fearing for Steve’s safety. The last we saw of him, both Steve and Nancy were trapped in the Upside Down with Vecna on the prowl. Intense discussions have been had amongst the GAMINGbible team and I can confirm we’d all be devastated if Steve died.

That being said, is Steve too obvious of a choice? Everything is pointing towards him, but it could all of course be a red herring. Mike or Jonathon’s death would have greater emotional weight, propelling Eleven and Joyce forwards. Like I said, we don’t have long to find out. Pray for Steve.
