Netflix's Marvel Shows Have Officially Found A New Streaming Home

Netflix's Marvel Shows Have Officially Found A New Streaming Home

Netflix will remove 'Daredevil', 'Jessica Jones', 'Luke Cage' come 1 March, but they will all become available elsewhere.

There's been big things coming from the Marvel universe of late. With actors confirming that everything down to the Netflix shows are indeed canon, if you want to know your Reed Richards from your Matthew Murdock, you'll have to watch it all. That's why fans were disappointed to discover that from 1 March many of the Marvel TV shows would be leaving Netflix. This includes Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage.

Hawkeye is one of the shows exclusive to Disney's service and you can see the trailer here.

It was no secret that Netflix was winding down the production of Marvel based content, even despite the popularity. The above shows as well as Punisher, and Iron Fist were all cancelled, with even the actors left in the dark. There was even a lot of confusion surrounding who would even be kept on in the Marvel universe as actors began being recast. Things were made a little bit clearer however, when Disney announced its own streaming service; Disney Plus.

Disney Plus is a blossoming platform, but it was by no means guaranteed that Disney would host all of its IPs on its own service. While Disney owns Marvel, and all the tasty little superheroes within, not all of the content in it belongs to Mr Mouse. A good example is the latest cinematic success Spider-Man: No Way Home which despite releasing digitally next month, won't be coming to a streaming platform just yet.

Contrary to the films, the TV shows did seem to be Disney Plus bound. New shows Hawkeye, The Falcon And The Winter Soldier, Loki, and Wandavision were all exclusives to Disney's service. Now as reported by GamesRadar+ the three soon to be deleted Netflix series' will indeed be coming to Disney's own platform. Initially only in Canada, all three series will be available from 16 March.

Disney hasn't confirmed whether the shows will be available in all regions yet, but with how these things generally operate, it seems likely.
