Harry Potter fans will be able to return to Hogwarts once again in the new game Harry Potter: Magic Awakened, which launches next week.

The new game will be launching for mobile devices on the Apple and Google Play store, taking a new generation of spellcasters to the famous School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Players will be able to create and customise their own witch or wizard as they begin their studies on a wide range of magical practices, like spells and potions. PvP and PvE features are also in the game, in the form of duelling, a collectable card game, and mini-dungeons that see you face off against familiar Harry Potter enemies whilst playing as Harry, Ron, and Hermione.

Take a look at Harry Potter: Magic Awakened in action below.

A full teaser trailer, as well as a release date, was officially unveiled on Twitter yesterday, prompting a lot of excitement amongst fans, who’ve been patiently waiting for the game’s release since its announcement two years ago. “Best News‼️ Can’t wait to go back to Hogwarts," one fan wrote, while another added, "Thank you, aaaa after almost two years of waiting.”

It’s been a pretty good year for Harry Potter fans. Aside from Magic Awakened, thousands of players have been spending countless hours on Hogwarts Legacy across Xbox, PlayStation and PC platforms. Despite being several months old, players are still finding plenty to do and see, and the modding community have gone absolutely wild with their own creations and additions to the game, like online multiplayer.

There’s also the news of the HBO Max Harry Potter show, which will be a complete reboot of the franchise with an all-new cast. Details are few and far between at the moment, but it’s widely believed diversity and inclusion will be a big part of the casting process. Recently, Daniel Radcliffe spoke about the reboot, confirming that he has no plans to return for a cameo or larger role in the story.

Harry Potter: Magic Awakened will officially launch worldwide next week on 27 June.
