There it is - Saints Row gameplay. Though we've already had our first trailer for the reboot of the Saints Row series, this is content a lot of fans will have been waiting for, a proper look at what’s in store for players, thanks to the developer commentary.

A lot of fans of the original Saints Row games weren’t too happy with the new reboot of the game, thinking it felt a little too Watchdog 2 for their liking. Upon further inspection, the game does still maybe have that Ubisoft feel to it, but with all the driving, explosions, ridiculous circumstances and player rag-dolling, it feels a lot more like a Saints Row game. The game is trying to go right back to its roots.

The video on YouTube is called Criminal Ventures and that’s the focus of this preview. It’s showing us how we’ll “build a criminal empire from scratch”. You will have the opportunity to go from “upstarts” to owning the streets. Players will get the choice of what businesses to build and where to place them for their needs. The business “Let’s Pretend” for example is where your player will get to plan heists.

It looks like there are a lot of ways for players to make the money they need to control the city. From throwing themselves infront of vehicles to claim insurance money to illegally dumping the waste of other companies on roads, players will be able to choose the way they build their business.

Under the trailer it says: "Criminal Ventures lets you build your own definitely-not-a-front-businesses across Santo Ileso as you rise to power, change the city and rake in the cash you need to make a name for the Saints in Santo Ileso." We're excited to see how this all plays out when the game launches February 25, 2022.
