New South Park Episode Shows The Kids As Adults For First Time

Rugrats did it

Have you ever wondered what the kids of South Park might look like all grown up? No, me either. But that's exactly what we're getting for the first time in the show's 24-year history thanks to South Park: Post COVID.

The "original event" will air on Paramount+ on Thanksgiving. That's November 25 for those of us who don't live in America. The special episode will explore what happened to Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Cartman after the COVID-19 pandemic. As you can see from the below trailer, it seems to have changed them forever.

"What happened to the children who lived through the Pandemic? Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny survived but will never be the same post-COVID," reads the trailer's description.

While the trailer kicks off in usual South Park style, things take a surprising turn as time leaps forward a few decades and we see an adult Stan speaking on the phone with an adult Kyle.

Kyle, it seems, is now a professional counselor with a degree from the university of Colorado. Stan doesn't seem to have done too badly either judging by his swanky kitchen and living room.

"Stan, do you remember when we were little?" Kyle asks over the phone. "As kids we said we'd always be there for each other when things got bad."

"What do you mean?" Stan replies. What's happened?"

It'll be interesting to see where this particular story goes, and to learn the relevance of this unexpected time jump. Sadly, we don't get a glimpse of adult Cartman or adult Kenny, but I'm more than happy to wait for that treat. Although, I'm 99% sure that's one or both of them will have died.
