At EVO 2022, Bandai Namco revealed that the next Tekken title is on the way, and announced it in the most iconic of teaser trailers.
Tekken 7 has been supported with a huge amount of downloadable content since its release on home consoles, and thanks to this, it doesn't feel like a seven year old game. Of course, it was originally only available in arcades, as the game itself was built on an arcade board based on PC architecture.

Following the Grand Finals at EVO 2022, Bandai Namco notified players of future balance updates for the Tekken 7 and concluded with the original Tekken ending, where Kazuya drops Heihachi off a cliff.

Kazuya smirks at the player, as per, and then there's a glitch of static and he suddenly looks much more modern and is sporting the glowing red eye he acquired in Tekken 4.

Now, it's not known whether this would be a new entry or a remake as Bandai Namco has been vague about what shape Tekken 8 would take. "If the game is released and the players really seem to like 7 and want to see more in the same vein, perhaps that’s something that could happen," said director Katsuhiro Harada in an interview with PC Gamer in 2017. "We have some early ideas for what we’d like to do, but it really comes down to the players and what they want to see."
