New-Gen Updates For ‘The Witcher 3’ And ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ Have Been Delayed

New-Gen Updates For ‘The Witcher 3’ And ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ Have Been Delayed

CD Projekt Red is once again delaying projects.

I mean what did we expect? Of course, there was going to be a delay from CD Projekt Red on the new-gen release for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077. We got so very used to seeing those delay images on Twitter that it’s somewhat comforting to see one once again, but this time it’s not just for Cyberpunk but for The Witcher 3 too.

In case you’ve forgotten the original state of Cyberpunk 2077 here’s our video breaking it down…

CD Projekt Red has tweeted out the announcement that both The Witcher 3’s and Cyberpunk’s new-gen upgrades have been delayed in 2022. The post reads: “Dear all, We have an important update regarding next-generation updates for Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for consoles and PC. Based on recommendations supplied by teams supervising the development of both games, we decided to postpone their releases until 2022.

“Our current target for Cybperunk 2077 is the first quarter of 2022, and second quarter for 2022 for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Apologies for the extended wait, but we want to make it right.”

And it’s crucial that they do just that - making it right I mean. Many are still trying to trust CD Projekt Red once again after the disappointing release of Cyberpunk 2077. It is so wildly important that the developers get this next release to be as close to perfect as possible so their fans feel comfortable supporting the company once again. Although it’s a shame for those of us that would have wanted to start our 15th playthroughs of The Witcher 3 this holiday, it’s understandable that the team want to get it right. We can wait till 2022 CDPR, don’t worry.
