Nicolas Cage Knows Exactly Which Villain He Wants To Play In Upcoming Batman Films

We don't know how he's been overlooked to play a Batman villain all this time.

The Batman has just come out, and Robert Pattinson's take on the Dark Knight is doing ever so well, isn't it?

Not only was it one of the highest rated DC films of all time, but it has done exceptionally well in the box office too. So it's no surprise that Warner Bros. are pursuing the idea of a sequel for their latest version of the caped crusader. Robert Pattinson has personally shared which villains he would like to square up against, including the sinister society the Parliament of Owls, and the cold-blooded serial killer Calendar Man.

If you haven't seen the latest offering from Gotham then check out Robert Pattinson in the official trailer below.

Now, so bad he's brilliant actor Nicolas Cage has weighed in on what part he would like to play, should he be cast in the sequel. In an interview with SXSW, (as transcribed by IGN), the Best Actor Oscar winner revealed which villain he would like to take on.

"We have this new (movie), Robert Pattinson as The Batman, which I'm excited to see. I haven't seen it yet but I think he would be terrific. - The villain that Vincent Price played on the '60s show, Egghead, I think I want to have a go at Egghead. I think I can make him absolutely terrifying. And I have a concept for Egghead. So let them know over at Warner Bros., I'm down for Egghead."

Egghead is a villain from the Batman TV show - back when Adam West took on the moniker of the goofy spandex clad version of Gotham's great detective. Self-described as the world's smartest criminal, Egghead's signature is his manner of speech, in which he peppers egg puns throughout his monologues (pun absolutely intended.)

He also carries with him a collection of egg shaped capsules filled with various gasses, to bombard his enemies. So if you want to see Nic Cage throwing egg bombs, and while maniacally screaming catchphrases such as egg-zactly and egg-cellent, as I'm sure we all do, get on the phone to Warner Bros. and let them know our man is down.
